B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering

B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering offered by GNIOT is a three-year full-time program affiliated to  Dr. A. P.J Abdul Kalam Technical University . The program is designed to provide a platform for young aspirants to transform them into dynamic, vibrant, inquisitive and highly adept Professionals. B.Tech course covers different fields of engineering and technology. The course combines both theoretical ideas and realistic packages, and ensures a balanced coping experience.

B.Tech Mechanical Engineering [Lateral Entry]

The Department of B.Tech Mechanical Engineering is one of the biggest departments in terms of faculty, students and activities in various directions. The department has highly qualified, sincere, experienced faculty and state of art laboratories and infrastructures.
The aim of this B.Tech mechanical engineering through lateral entry is to produce top-quality professional engineers to compete internationally and excel by carrying out basic and applied research in emerging areas.
The Department of Mechanical Engineering Lateral Entry, enhances the understanding and application of mechanical engineering principles, for tech development of the country, and improves the quality, through teaching and research.
Today, the world of Mechanical Engineers changes under the influence of advanced computational tools, vastly improved simulation and analysis, and entirely different manufacturing protocols. This has opened up new era of research in the department, such as Fluid Mechanics, Heat Transfer, Advanced Manufacturing Processes, CAD/CAM/CIM, Robotics and Mechatronics, Knowledge Management, Operations Management, Control Engineering.

Eligibility Criteria

Professional Working in Registered Industry/Organization(Central/State) / Private Limited Company/MSMEs located within 75KM either from place of residence/working place.
Qualification Same as candidates eligible for Lateral entry to Second Year (As Specified in Approval Process Hand-book published by AICTE from time to time)
Minimum of ONE Year Full time/Regular working Experience.

The Main Features of the B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering - Lateral Entry

The programme B.Tech Mechanical lateral entry is of six semesters with classes in weekends and holidays (during the day time). Practicals are held each Saturday.
Students of B.Tech lateral entry in mechanical engineering can access learning material in various formats: text, video lectures and audio anytime from everywhere through a Learning Management System.
Student’s performance is assessed continuously throughout the semester by quiz, assignments, mid-semester and end-semester exams. The assessment results are shared with the students to improve their performance.
